PACKAGING AND UNBOXING
As usual Leofoto have a beautiful design box. Inside the box you could find a plastic foam bag with the L-Plate for a Sony A7R4, and in the bottom of Plate we can find allen wrench.
WHAT'S A L-PLATE?
A lot of photographers never heard about a L-bracket before.
The real reason for a L-bracket becomes obvious when we connect a camera to the ball head. In landscape position it is not much different from a normal camera plate. But when you need to place the camera in portrait position, a few things will happen with a normal camera plate. First of all, the camera with lens will be tilted 90° towards the left or right of the ball head. With a heavy camera, or a light tripod, the setup may become unstable. But also the composition will change because the camera had a different position.
When we use a L-bracket, nothing has changed with the landscape position. When we want to change it into portrait position, we have to disconnect the camera from the ball head, rotate the camera 90°, and connect it again to the ball head. This way, the weight of the camera and lens is still right above the center of the tripod, keeping the setup well in balance. But also the composition remains the same. Sure, it has changed in orientation, but the position of the camera has not changed. It just rotated.

FEATURES AND BUILD CONSTRUCTION
The L-plate LPS-A7R IV is Arca Swiss type L-Plate design to Sony A7R4 this mount allows quick and precise positioning of the camera in horizontal or vertical format without forcing the ball head or the correct balancing of the camera.
This quick release plate is screwed to the base of the camera by 1/4 standard screw. It is made of lightened CNC aircraft aluminum with Allen screw. The Leofoto LPS-A7R IV L-shoe can be used with any of the Leofoto ball heads NB, LH, LG, CB series, among other models. It is also compatible with 3-axis heads with Arca Swiss/Kirk type plate connection. On the side it has an open space to place connection cables such as triggers, intervalometers, Hdmi Cable, Charging Cable, among others.
LOCAL BATTERY REPLACEMENT
On this plate there is a place where we can easily replace the battery, without disassembling it, and the place is spacious enough to do the replacement without any problems.

MY CONCLUSION
All the photographers like to take vertical pictures, and like to make Panoramas, here is a good tool, this L-plate, has an excellent design and good quality, has a good access to change the battery, and has a cut in the side to facilitate the access to the camera doors, for me its only small negative point is its price, I think it could be a bit more accessible, as for the construction it is awesome.
